Modern faired motorcycles
On modern-styled bikes you usually access the bulb from the back of the
headlight, and while on some you will disconnect the wiring then remove a
rubber cover and release the bulb retaining clips as before, on others you
will need to remove a cover first, sometimes by twisting it anti-clockwise,
before you have access to the
wiring connector and the bulb itself.
On some bikes the bulb fits into a
bulb holder and the wiring connects
to a socket in the holder rather than
to the bulb terminals themselves,
and on these you may not need to
disconnect the wiring, as long as
there is enough freeplay in it to be
able to change the bulb without
straining the wires.
Turn the bulb holder anticlockwise to release it from the
housing, then carefully ease the
bulb out of the holder. Having
