How to fill your motorcycle with new oil
1 The new oil is poured into the
filler orifice, using a funnel if
necessary.
2 Add enough oil so the level is up
to the maximum level line on the
dipstick or inspection window,
and then refit the filler cap.
3 Run the engine for a couple of
minutes to distribute the new
oil to the filter, then stop it, wait
a couple more minutes to allow
it to settle, and check the level
again – it is likely that you will
need to add a bit more oil to
compensate for filling the filter
housing.
4 Check around the drain plug and
filter to make sure there are no
leaks, then refit any components
that were previously removed.
Don’t forget that the old oil must be
disposed of responsibly.
