How to fit a new oil filter to your motorcycle
To fit a new spin-on filter, remove any wrapping then smear clean oil
onto the filter’s rubber seal. Thread the filter onto the boss and tighten
it to the specified torque, or as described on the box or the filter itself if
you don’t have the socket or a torque wrench.
When fitting a new filter element make sure you fit it with the open end
against the oil passage. Again, refer to your manual for details.
A strainer is usually wedge-shaped and can only fit one way, but again
check the details in your manual. Fit the cover using a new seal or gasket
as required.
