2 Open the bleed valve a quarter of a turn to allow fluid to fill the hose
up to the valve. Place the other end of the hose in a container to catch
the fluid. Leaving the valve a half turn open, apply the brake pedal to
force fluid out of the caliper. Do this several times whilst checking for
air bubbles in the fluid coming out of the caliper but keep an eye on
the fluid level in the reservoir too.
3 When the fluid coming out of
the caliper is free of air bubbles,
hold the pedal down and tighten
the bleed valve. Check the feel
of the rear brake. If you’re happy
with it, check the bleed valve
is tight, disconnect the hose
and fit the dust cap. Top up the
reservoir to the max level line,
then fit the diaphragm, plate and
cover.
