The traditional way
To bleed a front brake caliper using
the traditional method, you’ll need
a short length of clear flexible hose
that fits snugly over the bleed
valve end and a small container
partially filled with clean brake
fluid.
1 Make sure the bike is positioned
so the reservoir is level. Remove
the cover, there’s usually a plate
too, and the diaphragm. Slowly
pump the brake lever a few
times to dislodge any air bubbles
from the top of the system. If
there are any, you’ll see them
come up through the fluid.
2 Check the fluid level in the reservoir and keep it topped up to the max
line. If the reservoir runs dry you will be drawing more air into the
system rather than new fluid.
